Hyderabad: The senior congress leader and MP, Hanumantha Rao slammed the NDA government for failing to grant the special status for the AP state.
The union minister M Venkaiah Naidu for his failure to impress upon the government the need to fulfil the promise made by the government on the floor of Rajya Sabha during the AP Reorganisation Bill.
“When the AP chief Minister, Naidu approached him, the same leader who championed for special status is now saying that it cannot be implemented on technical grounds”, said Rajya Sabha MP.
The NDA government had lost interest in recovering black money stashed away in Swiss Bank accounts he said. The Modi government had failed to keep all the promises. The congress MP, who undertook a day’s hunger strike on Saturday to protest against the government weakening the agitation against land acquisition, said the congress would fight on behalf of farmers.
