The business body of Andhra Pradesh, FAPCCI has released a “Socio Economic Development Plan for Telangana” today. The report highlights the impending power crisis, an immediate minus of 3000 megawatts, which could go up to 11,000 megawatts if all the proposed lift irrigation projects are completed.
The report suggests region specific industrial corridors – Power generation, textiles for Adilabad, Karimnagar; Food processing, Agro based, Services and healthcare for Nizamabad; Trade, engineering and automobile for Medak; Mineral based, export, IT and ITES, food processing for Khammam and Warangal; Textiles, Cement, manufacturing, agro based for Mahabub Nagar and Nalgonda.
Radial road projects, parallel road projects are a must. Three airports should be developed in Warangal, Khammam and Nizamabad. Warehousing, Cold storage facility focus is another suggestion.
The report surprisingly suggests restrictions on real estate to control price rise in land rates. The report also suggests PP model in housing development. The report also suggests decentralization of civil and administrative organizations to reduce their concentration in Hyderabad.
