Cong fights for farmers
we are not against industries
Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi said that farmers get the credit and fame for providing rice to the people. Speaking at a public meeting at Vadyala in Adilabad district today he said that Congress party had worked for the welfare of farmers and waived their loans to the tune of Rs 70,000 crore. He also asserted that farmers and labourers would spend their blood for the nation. Referring to the remunerative prices, he said that his party always raised the said prices for protecting their interests. In 10 years the Congress government sanctioned Rs 8 lakh crore loans to the farmers. Stating that land is equal to gold and that is the reason why Modi government was trying to grab land from farmers. Rahul pointed out that good days are for Modi and for poor farmers. He questioned the people assembled whether anybody among them wore a suit worth Rs 10 lakhs. He called it a day after thanking the activists and people who walked along with him during his yatra.
