Fibre grid project in AP takes off


AP government has formally launched the fibre grid project- one among the five grids it conceived-at Visakhapatnam today. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, CISCO chairman John T Chambers and a host of dignitaries attended the function. If this is completed, people can get internet and cable connections for just Rs 150/. The first phase of the project has already been over in which optic fibre cable has been laid for a distance of 2661 kilometre length in the three north coastal districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam. The cables were integrated with the nearby power stations.
