Film producers are in troubles today. What they are spending for their films is not back. Returns are poor. They are not getting satellite rights in case their films are failures in the theatres. Producers engaging big heroes are on the rocks whether in Kollywood, Tollywood, or Shandilwood. Big budgets, top heroines and heroes are there but the collections are not up to the expectations. It is also difficult for films to reach the tv screens from silver screens as they have to pass through various hurdles.
To ensure success of a film, the hero should be popular. Once it makes a box-office hit it would be welcome by small screens. Many sensible films including heart touching ones so far could not sell satellite rights. This is said to be cinema business and also business of stars going round the satellite. Shankar movie I .. with a big budget ended up in theatres itself and satellite channels almost ignored it. Tamil star Surya’s Sikander is also not up to the mark and half of what spent on the film did not come back to the producer. But Surya the hero is about to release his next film. Film Sikander has been ignored by the tv screens.
Romantic movie maker Goutham Menon also landed in the same mud. His film ‘’ eto vellipoyindi manusu ‘’ almost completed two years but so far no tv channel has accepted it though it is said to be a super film. Producer has been trapped in loans. Some films were sold even before their release. Son of Satyamurthy with a combination of Bunny and Trivikram was owned by Maa tv for Rs 8.5 crore. So also Ravi Teja’s kick – 2 film was purchased by Gemini tv for Rs 7.5 crore even before the release. Films like Ram pandaga chesko, lion anukhsanam, current theega, Gil, evade subramanyam films were ready for show on small tv. On the contrary even after release there are many films not reaching the tv gates like balaiah babu, paramveer chakra, linga, i, sikander, rara krishniah. Same is the fate of even the top villain film produced by Kamala Hasan.
