Giving a break to the unfortunate ‘Lingaa’ losses issue, superstar Rajinikanth finally agreed to compensate the losses of the protesting distributors. The superstar had paid an undisclosed amount of money to the producer of the film Rockline Venkatesh and had asked to give the money to the distributors and make them to quit protests.
‘Lingaa’ was released in December 2014 and failed miserably at the box office since then protest is going on by the distributors of the film. Many times negotiation took place between the distributors and the producer but the result came out to be nil. The President of Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council, Kalaipuli S Thanu issued a press statement saying that the issue has been resolved and all the parties associated with it are satisfied.
In spite of all this the distributors say that they suffered a loss of 35 crores. It is speculated by Tamil media circle that the compensation amount might be around 10 crores. Rajini fans are happy with the end of this long term dispute
