Former AP CM Kiran Reddy hints at joining new party

n-kiran-kumar-reddyFormer chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh N Kiran Kumar Reddy has indicated that he would soon be joining a new party.

Interacting with the villagers in the constituency (Piler) he once represented, he quipped- “the marriage was fixed. I cannot reveal the name of the bride. You will all get invitation cards once the marriage date is fixed.

Mr Reddy was the last chief minister of undivided AP. He termed it as the greatest misfortune of his life to be at the helm of affairs when the division took place. He strongly differed with the view point of the Congress High Command but had to fall in line. He did not contest the election after the division in 2014.

Mr Reddy did not indicate in which party he is going to join. But speculation is rife that he may choose BJP as he could not join hands either with Chandrababu Naidu of TDP nor with Jaganmohan Reddy of YSRC.

There were some reports in some section of the press a few months back that BJP top leadership was in touch with him as there was no strong head for the AP unit. But with the TDP having an alliance partner, it is to be seen how the saffron party could afford a nonchalant head like him as its head.
