GHMC bid to raise revenue

Hoardings-flouting-rules-1GHMC is planning to raise its revenue from the current Rs 34 crore to Rs 59 crore while erecting more hoardings in addition to over 2400 hoardings in the city and it also imposed a new rule to keep in check unauthorized hoardings which were coming up. GHMC also warned all concerned that erection of unauthorized hoardings would be strictly penalized. As part of this programme it also came out with a new advertisement policy and 10 percent of that would go to the government. A search committee was also expected to submit its report on hoardings on August 31. Over 600 unauthorised hoardings were erected, according to official estimation.
