Entry of two-wheelers, three-wheelers, buses, all goods-carrying vehicles and slow-moving vehicles (particularly tractors), autorickshaws, animal-driven carts and cyclists on the expressway are prohibited by Hyderabad and Cyberabad police. Pedestrians are restricted too. Only four-wheelers, APSRTC Pushpak buses, a few GMR buses and all-state government run buses are allowed, which are allowed to speed upto 100 to 140 kilometers per hour.
“These prohibited private buses, mostly heading to Bengaluru and Chennai, operate late in the night and during early hours. As many as 30 were issued challans last week, with a fine of Rs 1,100, and drivers too were given a strict warning. Every day, a traffic post is set up at the Puppalaguda ramp where the vehicles are stopped. These buses are supposed to ply under the bridge taking the Attapur, Puppalaguda, Hyderguda route. Most of the buses that were caught violating rules were Bengaluru vehicles,” said P. Srinivas, traffic inspector, Rajendernagar.
