In a fierce encounter, greyhounds have gunned down eight Maoists in the dense forest area of Khammam-Chattisgarh border. Six bodies have been recovered and the identification process is going on, according to police. The encounter took place in the wee hours today at Putapadu near Cherla. Eight weapons have been recovered from the site including AK-47, two SLR and 3 nos 303 rifles.
Combing operation is on in the forest area.
