The crisis in Uttarakhand has deepened after the rebel congress MLAs dropped a bombshell saying that the chief minister Harish Rawat has offered them bags of money and key posts in an attempt to save his government. They released a CD of a sting operation which allegedly carried to expose the CM offiering bribe to them. Strongly denying the allegations and CD, Mr Rawat has made a recommendation to the speaker to dismiss all nine rebel MLAs.
Speaking to the media after meeting the speaker, Rawat said, “I had come to meet the speaker as the leader of the Congress party. I was asked as to what all construes the anti-defection law on these nine MLAs.”
Rebel Congress MLAs Kunwar Pranav Singh and Saket Bahuguna, son of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna, released the CD at a press conference in Delhi saying it showed Chief Minister Harish Rawat was resorting to horse trading ahead of a crucial trust vote on March 28.
Rawat said the sting operation CD is fake. “The CD is false and farce,” he remarked.
