HC seeks report on farmers suicides

High CourtThe High Court asked the governments of the two Telugu states to submit a report on the suicides by the farmers. The High Court advised voluntary agencies to work to stop suicides by the farmers. The petitioners said during hearing that the burden of private loans were forcing the farmers to end their lives. The High Court ordered the petitioners to bring the farmers who had obtained private loans to the court. The High Court also ordered the petitioners to submit the details of the farmers who had committed suicides in the last two months, to the counsel of the government in  a week. The Court adjourned the hearing for three weeks.
