Headley: LeT tried to kill Bal Thackerey

Headley-Bal-ThackereyThe banned terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba had tried to kill the late Bal Thackery twice, Shiv Sena supremo in Mumbai but could not succeed, Pakistani-American terrorist David Coleman Headley disclosed.
The man who made the attempt was arrested by the police but he later managed to escape, he added.
On his second day of cross-examination via video link on the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, Headley informed the court that he visited the Sena Bhawan twice on the instructions of his supervisor Sajid Mir; the target was to assassinate Thackeray.
Headley is being cross-examined in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks case by Abdul Wahab Khan, Defence lawyer of Abu Jundal and Special Public Prosecutor lawyer Ujjwal Nikam. Abu Jundal is one of the prime accused in the terror attacks case.
