In a move aimed at providing full healthcare for all the government employees, Telangana government will be making changes in the existing health scheme to provide all medicines free of cost for their lifetime. They will also be allowed to undergo master (full) health check-up once a year. The government will come into agreement with over 100 selected diagnostic centres across the state. Efforts are on to ensure employees access all medical services in all prominent private hospitals from November itself.
So far, corporate and big private hospitals have not been implementing government’s health scheme for employees citing lower rates. As a result, employees have been paying up hefty amounts in corporate hospitals and getting treatment. To avoid this, government has held talks with managements of private hospitals and arrived at an agreement.
Now, employees can get OP tests at some selected hospitals and diagnostic tests at specified centres and, upon recommendation for any big health issue, they can approach corporate hospital. They can get 700 types of medicines free of cost for the rest of their life at the medical shops which have government authorization. The family members of employees also would get free health check-up facility once a year along with the employees.
