For the last one week heat wave conditions are seen in the city. There is a sudden rise in mercury raising the city temperature and the citizens reel under the impact of the scorching Sun. Right from morning at 8 am to 6 pm the solar power seems to have increased only to torture the poor people for the last three days in a row. With mercury touching 40 degree centigrade the Sun started hitting with his burning rays. This is not limited to day time. Even during the nights the weather is not favourable with the same heat continuing though rains lashed the city three or four times. Sweating has been actually irritating in spite of coolers and fans working. Solar heat has risen.
Met experts confirmed that weather condition in the upper regions over the Bay of Bengal was the reason behind the current heat wave. Met officers said that hot winds entered the State and it resulted in the rise in temperature by four to five degrees centigrade. Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts recorded 42 degrees while Nizambad and Adilabad districts recorded 45 to 46 degrees. Officials said that 40 degrees was recorded in every district. There seems to be a silver line as experts asserted that such weather conditions prevail before the onset of southwest monsoons. The said monsoons arrived in Andaman island three days back and they would strike Kerala in May ending, said the Met officers. They also warned that people must observe all precautions as the same trend will continue for another four days.
