Verbal war erupted between the opposition and the ruling party members today over the issue of recruitment drive in the state. Congress member and PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy charged that TRS government has hoodwinked Telangana youth by not fulfilling their long-standing demand of job drive. “You have stated in the past there are 1.40 lakh posts have to filled up but now you say 56000 posts.. where did the remaining go? Not even a single person was recruited till date?” he lambasted.
Finance minister Etela Rajender rebutted the charge saying it was the Congress which has cheated the youth in their ten year rule. “We have already given notifications to fill up 18,000 posts. Another 1.07 lakh jobs are yet to be filled up. Congress governments in the past have given jobs only on contract basis or outsourcing. In fact, Telangana was formed for jobs and water and government is fully aware of its tasks” he said. TD member R Krishnaiah said around 2.20 lakh posts have remained unfilled over the years and many schools have no teaching staff. Government has been making conflicting statements on DSC but not taking up the process yet, he criticized.
