The body of the Lt.Col. Niranjan Kumar killed in the Patankot operations against terrorists, reached his native place Elumbalaserry, Kerala for the last rites with full military honors. His body was flown from Delhi to Bangaluru and from there to his native place. The NSG commando was killed while trying to remove a bomb from the body of a militant. Amiable and of a cheerful temperament, Niranjan promised his family that he would return at the earliest to go on pilgrimage to temples, especially Mookambigai temple. He was married with a two year old girl child Vismaya. His bereaved wife Radhika is a dental surgeon.
Last rites to the body of Gurusevak Singh killed in the operations against the terrorists at Patankot was completed with military honors and tradition of the deceased at his native place Garnala. Earlier the Haryana chief minister Manoharlal Khattar, other ministers and army officials paid homage to the memory of Singh. The chief minister announced financial assistance of Rs.20 lakhs to the kin of Gurusevak Singh.
