Homes for all poor in city: CM

CM-KCRChief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made clear that there should not be any poor man without a home in the city. He held a review meeting with top officers on construction of houses for poor. According to a detailed survey, over two lakh people were homeless and chief minister assured that government would construct houses for them. He asked what is wrong if lands were allocated to the poor when lands were allotted for pleasure making ( hubs and bars ). Rao told the officers to secure lands for building homes for poor. In this connection he reminded that lands which were earlier allotted for educational institutions and clubs were lying useless and suggested that they be used for building houses for poor. The chief minister ordered officers that double bed room houses should be constructed  in Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills in stages. Genuine selection of beneficiaries should  be made under the supervision of the revenue and intelligence departments. GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar was entrusted with the task of constructing two lakh houses for poor.
