Honewell-Tata deals for India’s defence navigators.

In a major corporate deal on Monday, Tata Power Ltd and Honeywell Aerospace have signed a licensing agreement to produce Honeywell’s Tactical Advanced Land Inertial Navigator, or “TALIN”, in India under Tata’s Strategic Engineering Division (SED).

This deal is a major break-through for Modi government’s ‘Make in India’ program which has aksed the corporate sector in India to make the nation free from dependency on other nations in arms section.

An official statement by Honeywell said, “Honeywell will licence the design, hardware and expertise to assemble, test and, in the future, build the production kits for TALIN to Tata Power SED”.

Rahul Chaudhary, Chief Executive Officer of Tata Power’s SED said, “Our strategic agreement with Honeywell supports Tata Power SED’s commitment to the Make in India initiative—a priority for India’s new government”.
