HRC seeks report on cheap liquor

hrcThe Human Rights Commission has ordered the chief secretary Rajiv Sharma, TS, to submit a report on cheap liquor sale by September 11. Leaders of Mahila wings of all political parties complained to the HRC requesting for blocking the scheme. Earlier, Opposition leaders of all political parties assembled in Hyderabad Kalinga Bhavan and discussed the issue. Later, they said they would start anti-cheap liquor fight with 10,000 people in Gajwel. On the other minister Eetela Rajender made clear that government’s intention was to protect the innocent consumers of ‘gudumba’ which claimed the lives of many. Intellectuals said sale of cheap liquor was bad and they opined that better schools and colleges are essential for protecting the falling educational standards.
