Htin Kyaw likely to be Myanmar’s next president, Suu Kyi ruled out

Htin-Kyaw-and-Suu-KyiHtin Kyaw, a close aid of pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyiis is likely to be the next president of Myanmar.
Although two nominations have been filed for the presidency by the National League for Democracy-controlled parliament, Kyaw is the natural choice, according to reports.
The nominations confirm that NLD leader Aung San Suu Kyi will not be president of the country. She would rather control the country through ‘remote’ it is described in western media. She will enjoy power but will not become president. She has also stated earlier that she would be ‘above’ the president.
Despite a huge win in the last elections where in 80% of NLD candidates won the polls, she failed to convince the army on the controversial clause that bars her to become president.
Clause 95 F says the president shall not have spouse or children with foreign origin
She tried to strike a deal with the army junta but of no avail.
Htin Kyaw, 70, said to have a reputation for honesty and loyalty, is a poet and keeps a low profile
