‘Hudhud’ fear makes Railway cancel 38 trains on Oct 12

Railway-cancel38 trains on October 12 have been cancelled by the East Coast Railway under the effect of the cyclone ‘Hudhud’ which is expected to hit the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.

J P Mishra, Chief Public Relations Officer of East Coast Railway said, “We do not want even a single casualty as our passengers’ safety is foremost in our agenda. Hence, we have decided to cancel 38 the trains on the Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam route from 6 AM on October 12 and during that time the entire section would be closed to all mail express and passenger trains”.

Bhubaneswar-Bangalore Prashanti Express, Bhubaneswar-Visakhpatnam Intercity, Bhubaneswar-Yesvantpur, Bhubaneswar-Secunderabad Visakha Express, Puri-Okha Express, Bhubaneswar-Tirupaty Express, Puri-Tirupaty Express, Bhubaneswar-Mumbai Konark Express, Puri-Chennai Express and several other trains have been cancelled.

The meteorological department has sent the warning that the cyclonic storm ‘Hudhud’ is expected to hit the Andhra-Odisha coast on October 12.

The Railways has also informed that a few trains from Howrah towards southern states would be diverted through Raipur and Nagpur section.
