Maheshwaram mandal of Ranga Reddy district will soon have a huge fuel storage point of Indian Oil Corporation spread over 120 acres land. The storage will guarantee sufficient fuel supply to the newly formed state.
Some districts were facing shortage of diesel and petrol. Fuel has to be transported from Vizag through Vijayawada to fulfill the demand. AP government demanding taxes for the transportation of fuel through storages in the state.
The demand from AP government left the industry in confusion as oil manufacturing companies claim the tax to be paid by dealers while the dealers demand it to be cleared by the companies.
State Finance Minister Etela Rajender said, “Officials have identified about 120 acres in Maheshwaran for the IOC project. IOC feels that this would be the ideal location to set up the project. They gave a representation to this effect which is under active consideration of the government”.
