On Monday for inclusion of humanitarian outlook as a pointer to measure the Human Development Index (HDI) of a nation suggested Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary. He said HDI measured using indices of life expectancy, education and income to rank human development of different nations.
He stated “Now is the time to add humanitarian activity to the list to signify the level of a society’s concern towards the less privileged,”
A special mega health camp organized for the physically challenged persons was inaugurated by the Assembly Speaker. They were screened at the camp and distributed clutches, tricycles, artificial limbs, bus passes and laptops.
Speaker said -“With everyone’s contribution, their lives would become better,”
The camp was organised by the Department of Women, Children, Disabled and senior citizens in association with Bhagavan Mahaveer Charitable Trust of Hyderabad.
Inder Chand Jain who is a trust organizer assured of extending more help from the Trust while District Collector G Kishan informed that similar camps were scheduled to be held in Warangal and Mahabubabad on Tuesday and Wednesday.
