The firsttrain compartment of the prestigious Hyderabad Metro Rail has been dispatched from the Hyundai-Rotem factory in Changwon, Korea yesterday. The trial run was also conducted at the factory track before the dispatch, which was attended by representatives fron Hyundai, Mitsubishi -Japan, other German, Korean collaborating companies apart from HMR representatives Mr. Deosthalee and Mr. Gadgil.
L&T, HMR officials Deosthalee and Gadgil have expressed great satisfaction and sense of achievement on the landmark occasion. The shipment of three cars will reach HMR Uppal depot by the third week of May, the trial runs in the Nagole-Mettuguda route will start in June 2014, announced the Metro officials.
Hyderabad Metro Rail is the world’s largest elevated rapid transit system. It will run 72 kilometer with an investment of 17,000 crores being built in public private partnership mode. A second phase will cover another 85 KMs which is yet to start.
