In another major announcement by TRS government in the ongoing Assembly session, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy announced that the state government is all set to introduce new policing system for Hyderabad which will work on the lines of New York and London. With an aim to provide security and safety to the citizens, the state government has sanctioned Rs 312.74 Crore for updating Police department with the latest technologies and facilities.
Mr. Reddy was replying to the question raised by MLAs Bigala Ganesh and Malipeddi Sudheer Reddy during Question Hour. Mr. Reddy said the said amount will be invested in for purchasing new vehicles and installing CC Cameras at strategic locations.
He made another major announcement in regard with women security in the joint Capital. He said, Women’s police stations would be increased to 80 in the coming three to four years.
Mr. Reddy said, “It is proposed to impart counselling to the police station staff on etiquette, culture change management, especially towards women and weaker sections and in the next six months each police station, circle office, Sub divisional police office will have a camera that records proceedings 24 hours. This will ensure transparency which is a key performance indicator of police functioning and to allay fears of police misdemeanour”.
