Hyderabad Traffic Police Uses Technology to Curb Corruption

Hyderabad-Traffic-PoliceIn a move to curb the corruption within the department, the Hyderabad Police introduced the system of e-challan for traffic offenders. Under the new policy, it has been mandated to the traffic policemen that they will not collect any cash from the traffic offenders. The offenders have to pay the fine through swiping debit or credit card on the spot or may pay the challan later at any e-seva or mee-seva centre.

Introducing the new initiation by the traffic police, Additional Commissioner Jitender said, “This is a first of its kind initiative in the entire country”.

Jitendra added, “We are introducing cashless enforcement against traffic violations, and no traffic policeman will collect the fine amount on the field”.

The Additional Commissioner also informed that an android application has been developed to pay the traffic fines. The application ‘E-Challan Telangana’can be downloaded from PlayStore.
