The IT minister Mr. KTR said that vigorous efforts are being made to make Hyderabad a global city, Attending the ‘Brand Hyderabad’ programme organised at Silparamam in the city on Tuesday, he said that one need not be surprised if Hyderabad is chosen to hold Olympics. The infrastructure in the city will be so developed as to accommodate ten crore people. The city will have wide roads, excellent transport facility, round the clock power supply that will never trip, full security to women, quality education, medicare and industries, he said in his power point presentation. The second stage metro railways would be expanded to link up with the entire city
He said that incubators would be arranged to encourage IT start ups in animation and multi media fields as in T-IT hub. He said that in the coming three years at least one lakh jobs will be created. The minister, going into details of the proposed world class city, said a 42 kilo metre six lane express way would be created along the Musi river, dividing the city into two parts. A world class suspension bridge would be built across the Durgam cheruvu. Metro stations would get bicycle stations. Three and half lakhs of street lights would have led bulbs in three months. Each household would be provided with 4 led bulbs. He said that the government would consider the establishment of universities in the private sector. Answering to a question, he said a sports city is proposed to be built with international standards.
