The ‘Controversy’ man Ram Gopal Varma, who found himself in the midst of criticism from across the country after his tweets on Ganapati.
Varma was booked under four different sections across the country in many police stations.
The complainants filed the case upon him for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of one community by degrading its lord.
In a recent interview, he acclaimed that this is not the first time he did so. He said that it is a matter of ‘freedom of expression’ and he loves to express what he feels in a manner he chose to.
When asked about his interest in offending other people, he said, “It’s the way I am. If you remember, there was a huge furore over an abusive word I used against Amitabh Bachchan. Everybody got into frenzy except him, whereas in reality, he should have been the only one to get upset. He didn’t get upset only because he knew and understood the context.”
He also added, “I am anti-anything I don’t agree with and I am not attacking anything or anyone other than just expressing my opinions which I have a right to do like anyone else in a free democratic country”.
