CM KCR thanked Congress chief Sonia Gandhi today in the assembly for being instrumental in realizing the Telangana State. He has thanked BJP’s President Rajnath Singh, and the leaders of 33 other parties too for supporting the Telangana cause.
KCR has also accepted that the recent Governor’s address has only been a broadline vision of the government’s plan. He has said that he wishes to take all parties, friendly or otherwise, with regard to all issues of development and work towards realizing the dream Telangana the public has been hoping for. Here are the major points of his speech…
We will ensure the implementation of reservations as per our promises.
The reservations will be within the constitutional sanctions, we will work towards finding ways to make them so.
We will propose a plan within two months in this regard.
Political corruption will not be tolerated.
Families of martyrs will be protected, we will announce benefits to families of 1969 martyrs too.
Pensions to elderly, widows, handicapped and other sections will be announced soon.
In addition to the already planned farmers loan waivers of up to one lakh, I propose to quash the loans taken against gold deposits too.
The loan waivers may amount to 19 thousand crores, the plan will benefit families of over 26 lakh farmers.
We will ensure no dearth of seed for the Kharif season.
Telangana suffered huge injustice in Godavari water allocation. We are entitled to 900 TMC in Godavari water, 300 TMC in Krishna water, another 77 TMC in Krishna surplus water, the total 1277 TMC would have brought 1 crore 30 lakh acres in to irrigation.
We now have to ensure the completion of all projects under construction, new projects also should be started, SLBC should be completed as soon as possible.
I assure giving potable water to Nalgonda no matter what, I propose to give water to 12 lakh acres in Nalgonda. Of the 132 TMC water allotted to us from Nagarjunasagar, we are getting only 55 TMC. We should go to tribunal for the water we are not getting.
We plan Jurala-Pakala canal. It will give water to Mahabub Nagar, Nalgonda,
The Brijesh Tribunal overseeing Krishna water has not been fair to Telangana, we have to fight again before them for our fair share.
With regard to electricity, the most recent Ordinance on Polavaram will take away the Sileru Hydal project from us. I protested the move with PM Modi. He assured me justice. PPAs for 4000 MW were made, we are paying for all 4000 MW, but we are getting only 1600 MW.
For the power deficit Telangana will face, I hope to get some from the Northern-Southern grid, then I propose to purchase some from the Chattisgarh government.
Despite the struggle we may face in the power sector, I assure that I will ensure 24 hours power supply to the upcoming ITIR zone proposed. I will speed up the production of another 6000 MW.
Thousands of cases wrongly imposed on Telangana activists will be quashed, some 489 cases or put on me also, these were nothing but politically motivated, vengeance filled cases, they should be abolished.
