“Politics needs people, who are clean, local and competent. People want someone with clean face, I will provide that. I know the nitty-gritty of urban governance. Bangalore needs a real ambassador who fights for the cause,” said Nandan Nilekani, Infosys cofounder, also known as the Aadhar man.
Nilekani has said that he wishes to contest the Lok Sabha seat from Bangalore South constituency. He had been meeting local MLAs and building consensus for his candidature, which has been satisfactory, he mentioned speaking at a meeting this morning.
Nilekani is touted as the Plan B candidate for Congress in case it gets a chance to form government with support of smaller parties. Nilekani will be facing BJP’s Anantha Kumar who has been representing the said seat for four straight terms.
