India is in driver’s seat in fourth test with South Africa. If it was Ravichandran Ashwin in Nagpur, it was Ravindra Jadeja at Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla. The left-arm spinner from Saurashtra took his fourth five-wicket haul to spell South Africa’s doom on Day 2 of the fourth and final Test on Friday.
Ravindra Jadeja took five for 30 as South Africa were all out for 121 in less than 50 overs, trailing India (334) by 213 runs. Ashwin and Umesh Yadav took two wickets each and Ishant Sharma chipped in with one as South Africa paid for poor batting discipline once again. India did not enforce the follow-on and the umpires called off play due to poor light.
AB de Villiers top scored for South Africa with a gritty 42 but rest of the South African batting failed to apply themselves on a turning wicket. Hashim Amla’s poor form continued and Faf du Plessis threw his wicket away as India’s spin-pace combination proved lethal.
