The selection of Indian ODI team for the upcoming series scheduled to be done today has postponed to August 7th. The Indian team for the five-match ODI series against England, scheduled after the conclusion of the ongoing 5-Test rubber, would be picked up by the national selection committee.
Indian squad scheduled to play a series of 5 ODI matches and a one one-off Twenty 20 international which starts from August 25. Those squad who will be selected for England series also scheduled to play the three-match series in Bangladesh will hope to get a run in England as well.
BCCI is believed to make the selection of the players keeping in view of the upcoming world cup in 2015. World Cup scheduled in Australia and New Zealand in February-March, 2015, the squad chosen for the ODI series in England would indicate to a large extent which of the players are in the selectors` radar for playing in the mega event and defending the crown won by the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led team in 2011.
For those who played previously the three-match ODI series by India in Bangladesh in June, seems like selector would give rest to the key players including captain Dhoni and a few others. The squad was played under the captaincy of Suresh Raina who is not part of the Test squad in England.
