Indo-Pak talks shelved

INDIA-PAKISTAN-DIPLOMACYPakistan is understood to have given up talks between NSAs merely to cover up its incursions on the borders and Hurriyat talks. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj earlier made clear that the agenda for National Security Advisors’ meeting is only terrorism and no other topic will be discussed and this condition was specifically conveyed to Pakistan while inviting NSA of that country. That apart it was also made clear that no third party would be allowed in the Indo-Pak meeting and Saturday midnight was kept as a deadline by India. Former minister Kapil Sibal brushed aside the topic of talks in case no seriousness is felt. J & K separatists were under house arrest by the security forces. India also specified that Pakistani NSA Sartaj Aziz will not be allowed to meet Kashmiri separatists.
