Inter-State criminals arrested in Hyd, Rs 5 lakhs seized

arrest v6 A  businessman in city was robbed of net cash of Rs 2.38 lakh which he drew from the bank by an inter-State gang and the police arrested them on October 18. The criminals were sent for judicial remand by the Ramgopalpet police. The special police squads based on the CCTV footages found that the criminals were hiding in a luxury apartment paying high rent in Kondapur. Further, the squad kept a close watch on them for over a week and nabbed them. Police seized two bikes, Rs 5 lakhs, mobiles, a weighing machine among others. The accused modus operandi is said to be interesting. They confirmed having committed over 10 thefts while diverting the attention of innocent public by deflating their vehicles’ tyres or by throwing some powder on their faces, according to central zone DCB V Kamalasan Reddy. The main accused Ratnakumar from Chennai, has absconded while three other criminals were trapped by the police. Purshotham Prabhu, a car driver, Amarnath, a tattoo maker, both from Kondapur, and a welder Gopi Raj were arrested. The criminals went on bikes in search of their victims and waited for a chance to divert their attention and committed crimes in the city. They were at last trapped by the police in a Kondapur complex.
