Railway Minister Mallikarjuna Kharge has introduced the Interim Railway Budget for 2014 in the Lok Sabha, amid lot of shouting and attempts to disturb the proceedings by Seemandhra and Telangana MPs.
The Railway Budget did not increase any passenger or freight fares. 17 new premium trains and 38 express trains are announced. A new line through the breadth of the country between Kashmir to Kanyakumari is introduced. A 11 Kilometer train tunnel will be built in J & K for better connectivity with the region. Another 4000 KM electrification is announced. Dedicated freight corridors will be introduced. Rail Vikas Nigam will gather funds from market.

Because of the continuous disturbance the budget presentation was finished in ten minutes flat.
