Hyderabad: Power cuts are continuing in and around the city at irregular intervals. But officials stated that disruptions are due to repairs and power outage is taking place at different places in the city.
Chief general manager of metro zone U.Satish kumar said that “we don’t find it necessary”.
“This is examination time. How can power supply be stopped now? We have been attending to the works wherever there are trips and transformer problems”, he added. As temperature increased the power supply also increased. Officials estimated that the demand would go up to 1,450-1,600 Mw in the next two months.
“We are prepared to supply uninterrupted power to all consumers in the city, be it domestic, industrial or commercial even if the demand crosses the 1,650 mw mark. There is nothing to worry about,” Mr Satish Kumar Reddy assured.
. “We have been slowly updating the existing ones and wherever there is a trip, we take that as an opportunity to change the equipment,” a senior official of operations said.
