Information Technology Employees Association(ITEA) welcomed the intensive household survey to be conducted on August 19th. Sandeep Maktala , president of ITEA in a press note demanded that IT companies have so far not announced anything officially about a holiday on 19th. He appealed the government to give directions to IT companies so that a payable holiday is declared on that day.
According to him, out of 3,23,691 IT employees in the state, 80,000 are from Telangana. Apart from these nearly 9 lakh people are working as drivers, house keepers and security guards etc. If IT companies do not announce official holiday, most of these will miss the survey on 19th, he added.
All IT industries under corporate wing of TAIA have announced payable holiday on 19th recognizing the importance of survey, TAIA corporate wing president Mohan Rayudu said.
The Telangana government has already announced official holiday to all government organisations and private companies which are registered under Companies and Organization Act. Singareni Collieries company has also announced payable holiday for employees on 19th.
