Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won with great margins in the capital of the country on Tuesday. The State’s AAP unit said that they will try to repeat the same kind of win in the coming State elections in Bihar and Punjab.
The party’s victory is celebrated by AAP members in New Delhi. They garlanded the Ambedkar statue at Tank Bund. They also organized a public meeting with the students of the Arts College, Osmania University. P.L. Vishweshwar Rao, treasurer, AAP, Telangana at a press conference held at the party office said, “This win has shown the people’s mandate, and the BJP must shed its arrogance.”
He was asked if AAP’s next target is the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls then he replied, “Though we did not win a seat in the Assembly and Parliament elections here, the party will replicate its success in the entire country, and will emerge as a national party.”
The State party office of AAP was all captured by the supporters many of them even went to Delhi to contribute to the victory. A private employee Rajneesh Sharma who works in Hyderabad said, “I took loss of pay and went, because I really wanted them to win. We convinced people that the party is going to help them. Also, we explained to people as to why Arvind Kejriwal had resigned, which they were bitter about.”
Rajneesh went to Delhi in spite of being opposed by his father. Another volunteer of AAP Azeemuddin Ajaz who explained people the motives of AAP and asked for vote said, “I made more than 1900 calls in about a week just to inform people about the change they can bring.”
