Going on expected lines, the American presidential election is going to be a clash between Hillary Clinton, former Secretary of State of Democrats and Donald Trump, a businessman of the Republican Party. On the crucial day of Super Tuesday, both have won many states compared to their opponents in the party cementing their chances in the race. Trump, whose controversial statements caught world’s attention was way ahead of his rivals- Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.
Super Tuesday saw 11 states voting, from Massachusetts in the east to Alaska in the north-west. A 12th state, Colorado, held a caucus – won by Mr Sanders – but does not actually select its delegates until April.
The US will elect new president on November 8 as Barrack Obama’s eight-year tenure comes to an end.
