On Saturday in Sangareddy (Medak) Rahul Bojja who is a district Collector at the Collectorate administered the National Voters Day pledge to officials and staff and gave a call to people not to ignore exercising their franchise during elections. While talking on the event the District Collector said that the Election Commission of India is observing National Voters Day on January 25 every year.
Rahul Bojja said that “every voter can elect leaders of their choice by casting vote” and the pledge was administered to officials and students in all offices and educational institutions across the district in connection with National Voters Day. The District Collector requested the people to realize the importance of right to vote and said them to enroll their names in the electoral list if they did not register themselves till now.
The district administration was taking necessary measures for enrollment of voters and a separate program for enrollment of voters would be taken up as per the guidelines of the Election Commission, he said.
