Congress senior MLA T Jeevan Reddy today heavily came down on the TRS government for ‘failing to come to the rescue of ryots’. Jeevan reddy said the state government did not send the list of drought-affected mandals’ to the Centre on time. He wondered why the chief minister is absent when a crucial discussion is going on in the assembly on drought.
“The government identified only 231 mandals as drought-affected instead of 443. That instead of doing it in September, it sent the report weeks later. More than fifty per cent of crops in Nalgonda, Karimnagar have gone dry without water. Please consider this issue in a serious way. Pay Rs 5,000/ as drought relief to every farmer since there are no rains. Release funds towards the fourth instalment of loan waiver and also for input subsidy” Jeeven urged.
But it was Revanth Reddy who cornered the government with a strong attack. He questioned why no incharge ministers were appointed for drought-affected districts, why no special officers were delegated, why no representation was sent to Centre for drought relief and no central team visited the state to assess the damage.
