J&K secretariat opens after 11 days, 10% employees turn to work

civil-secretariatLess than 10% employees reported for work on Thursday after the civil secretariat of Jammu and Kashmir reopened after 11 days. The normal life in the valley was struck due to disastrous floods.

Reportedly, the main entrance of the secretariat and the area around is still a feet in the water. The ground floor of the secretariat is severely hit by flood and is in no position to afford work. The upper-storey offices have been opened on Thursday, said a secretariat official.

The state cabinet had earlier decided to start the government work from September 18 from the civil secretariat.

About 200 people have been killed in the recent floods.
