Jr. Doctors Strike Continues Ignoring High Court order

high-courtThough the High Court ordered the striking junior doctors to join their duties immediately, nothing has changed in the plans of the striking medicos. The strike is on for about two months leaving the life of the poor and the rural area patients at the plight.

Several appeals have been made by the Director of Health, which all went in vain. Almost entire administration and cabinet called up the doctors to make them understand their importance in the rural areas which all did not mend the minds of doctors.

“The director asked us to resume work. But there have not been any negotiations on our issue”, says Dr Imran of Gandhi Hospital.

Meanwhile, the Director of Health and Medical Education, Dr. P Srinivas said, “We have told them that their demands would be considered, and as per the court order, they would be dealt with sympathetically”.

The striking doctors also claimed that they have not received any copy of orders from the High Court, thus, they will continue their strike till their demand is met by the state government.
