Tollywood here Junior NTR has been fined Rs 700/ by the traffic police for ‘blackening of car windows’ which is against rules. Mr NTR was going to Sarathi Studios when the police stopped the Range Rover car (AP 37 AX 9999) at Mytrivanam circle. Mr NTR was reportedly in the back seat at that time. Police found the car glass windows were filmed black and nothing is visible from outside. They fined him Rs 700/ and asked him to remove the black paint immediately.
The rule has been implemented for quite some time although there is strong opposition to it. Police has enforced it arguing that terrorists, thieves and some other fugitives managed to slip away in cars having blackened windows. The citizens have argued that how can the police trouble lakhs of people ‘for a frivolous reason that terrorists can be seen through if plain glasses are there’.
“If some celebrity is going in car which has plain glass windows, there will be traffic jams. Similarly women are facing a lot of problem because of such rule as stalkers, trappers and miscreants make vulgar gestures. So police should withdraw that rule” said Rishikesh Venna, a software employee working at Madhapur.
But the Police insisted there is no exemption for celebrities and the rule of law applies to all equally.
