Ravindra Bharathi, a venue marked as the centre of cultural and artistic functions in Hyderabad. The Telangana government is likely to order to demolish the building as Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has plans to construct a ‘Telangana Kala Bharathi’ at NTR Gardens or around Indira Park.
The speculations were almost confirmed when a group of architects from Mumbai-based Hafeez Constructions met the Chief Minister and offered him their services in redesigning the city according to the international standards. KCR reportedly asked them to draw a plan for several projects including a ‘Kala Bharathi’ with four auditoriums of 3,000 to 6,000 seating capacity each.
Now, it will be interesting to see if KCR would move forward to demolish Ravindra Bharathi, named after Rabindranath Tagore.
