Karnatka by-poll: Congress won 2, BJP 1

congressThe ruling Congress in Karnataka recorded remarkable victory after its worst performance in the general election. It won two out of the three assembly constituencies that went for poll on August 21.

The most remarkable victory for Congress came from Bellary rural seat that was ever considered as the hub of BJP in the state.

The Congress retained Chikkodi-Sadalaga assembly seat where Ganesh Hukkeri, son of MP Prakash Hukkeri, won contentedly.

The son of former CM and National vice-president of BJP, YS Yedyurappa managed to won with a slight margin of 4,000 votes from the prestigious Shikaripura seat. The constituency went for poll after Mr. Yedyurappa won the Lok Sabha election from the same Parliamentary seat.

After the results announced, CM Siddaramaiah said that the verdict is against BJP and the result is the indication of fading wave of Narendra Modi.
