Reiterating that Hyderabad belongs to all, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has stated that people having roots in Andhra have voted for TRS in the recent GHMC polls. “Could we get 99 seats without their votes?” he said during his speech at the orientation session for the newly-elected corporators at Pragathi Resorts in Hyderabad. “Yes, during Telangana movement, we had some issues. Now, there are no barriers such as Andhra, Telangana etc. All are Hyderabadis. During the separate state agitation and especially after the formation in 2014, there were apprehension in Andhra people that their lives are in jeopardy. But they have seen in the last 20 months of our rule and come to the conclusion that we are amicable and the city is in safe hands. There was no single instance of attack on Andhraites in the city. They trusted us and voted for us..” he elaborated.
This is an excellent cosmopolitan city. Bengalis, Gujaratis, Keralites, Sindhis, Kannadigas, Kayasthas, Marwaris have been living in the city for decades together in a harmonious way. Similarly Andhra people. All these are Hyderabadis. Be proud to be a Hyderabadi. Let us make the city the best” he urged.
