KCR calls High-Level Meet To Discuss Srisailam Canal Project

v6-srisailamTo discuss the future of Srisailam left bank canal project, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao called up a meeting in the Assembly premises on Thursday. The contracting firm JP Associates has refused to resume the work until the price adjustment of Rs. 723 Crore is paid to it due to cost climb of the project.Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao himself announced the meeting schedule in the State Assembly during a debate on the project.The Irrigation Minister of the state T Harish Rao said, JP Associates also demands for another Rs, 150 Crore as advance against bank guarantee, apart from Rs. 723 Crore towards price adjustment. Company wants Rs. 150 Crore to guarantee the possession of the cutters for the excavation of the underground tunnel as part of the project.
