The Bharatiya Janata Party slammed the state government of Telangana for avoiding participation in the ‘Unity Run’ on the occasion of 139th birthday of the first home minister of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Nagam Janardhan Reddy, senior party leader who had jumped from Congress to the BJP recently, said that the TRS did not participate in the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Divas’ to please its ally in the state, AIMIM. He alleged KCR of playing vote bank politics in the state.
The state government though passed circular to all the departments to participate in the events to be held on the day but no elected representative of the party or minister took part in the ‘Run for Unity’.
Mr. Reddy accused TRS of insulting Sardar Patel by not participating in the events.
